Kitchen technology innovations have taken hold over recent years. Smart appliances and devices offer convenience while helping reduce energy bills and saving you money on energy consumption costs.
For instance, smart faucets with motion sensors can dispense water only when necessary and help conserve water and money.
Thermomix TM6
If you need an all-in-one kitchen assistant to replace much of what clutters up your countertop and cupboards, look no further than Thermomix. This multitasking appliance weighs, chops, mixes, kneads, stirs and steams while cooking! Perfect for busy families and approved by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Thermomix helps make meal prep and cooking tasks simpler and safer for people living with disability or chronic illness.
The Thermomix TM6 kitchen helper features an upgraded screen and WiFi connectivity, and Cookidoo’s step-by-step guided cooking recipes are preprogrammed into it automatically. The CHOICE kitchen expert Fiona Mair describes this appliance as “like having your own sous chef in your kitchen, ” noting, “You can do anything with it”.
However, she suggests taking time and effort to learn how to operate the machine properly. While initially it can seem intimidating or complex, with dedication, you’ll soon become adept at using the TM6 like an expert in no time!
One drawback of the TM6 is its large footprint on counter space and power cord requirements and its higher cost than comparable all-in-one appliances with similar features (it doesn’t deep fry food, for instance). Still, many modern households can take advantage of its size and price – especially as it comes with its cookbook!
GE Profile Smart Double Oven Convection Range
A double oven is an essential kitchen appliance, particularly if you like hosting dinner parties or have a large family. This GE range takes the traditional oven experience one step further by providing advanced features that simplify baking, air frying and other baking tasks.
WiFi connectivity enables this smart oven to communicate with the GE Kitchen app, allowing for remote control. Check on your meal, change settings or start preheating without leaving work or going out with the kids – everything can be managed from anywhere!
GE’s Smart Double Oven Convection Range features an onboard power boil element for fast, precise boiling on the cooktop. Furthermore, this appliance has dual griddle zones, so cookware of different sizes can be used at once, while its self-cleaning feature ensures both ovens remain hygienic.
This GE appliance provides a versatile selection of cooking modes, such as convection multirack bake, self-clean, reheat and warm, traditional bake with high and low broil settings, closed-door broiling capability and LED lighting that provides clear visibility during baking. A lock button prevents accidental control changes, while an app compatibility feature lets you monitor it remotely.
This GE Profile model offers many advanced features at an attractive price but may be less intuitive than some of the other double ovens we’ve tested. While its display panel looks nice initially, buttons seem disorganized compared with competitors such as Electrolux’s $3,549 Electric Double Wall Oven with Wave-Touch Controls EW30EW65GS, KitchenAid’s Convection Double Oven KEBS209BSP; and Bosch’s HBL5650UC. However, these models all have better app integration, LED status bars, and additional cooking modes than their rivals.

It uses sensors to measure soil levels throughout its cycle and adjust wash time and water temperature according to tough messes or lighter loads; additionally, it comes equipped with ProWash’s three levels of filtration to remove food particles before reaching your dishes – this ensures everything smells fresher!
